From the very beginning, ship building has been a major factor in the development of Pictou County. Many great names are identified with these early days of the county, but maybe none with such clarity as the Carmichael family. The Carmichaels have had a profound influence on not only the shipbuilding industry, but the political and economic history of the county as well. On display is an impressive array of Trenton Glass and many artifacts, photographs and appliances from the past two centuries.

The Carmichael-Stewart House is open during June, July and August, Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturdays 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm, and is closed on Sundays.
